Since 1960, Nicolston Dam has offered water front camping along the Nottawasaga River, hosting 86 sites family owned and operated. Like a breath of fresh spring air, our hidden jewel will conjure up happy memories of childhood camping trips.

Choose one of our beautiful shady riverside campsites or enjoy an open sunny space.  We offer both 15 and 30 amp sites with convenient  water hook ups, as well as unserviced sites nestled along side the Nottawasaga River to reconnect with nature! Generators are permitted on unserviced sites from 67 to 76.

Relax the day away casting a line, swimming in the pool, with a game of mini golf, soccer, or canoeing/kayaking on the Nottawasaga River. Wi-Fi $, laundromat, playgrounds, ice, security gates and the mill store are some other great features here at the Dam!

Pool Area

After 20 years it is time for change! The pool area has been extended to accommodate a new lounge and table area. As a result the hot tub has been removed to allow for the larger newly renovated family area.

Located just off Hwy 89 in Essa, we’re right between Cookstown and Alliston, across the Nottawasaga Inn and Convention Center. We are walking distance to the Nottawasaga Inn. Military Base Borden is only a 12 minute drive away.

Important Notice

DO NOT BRING YOUR OWN FIREWOOD

We are complying with the “Don’t Move Firewood” campaign issued by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.  In the hopes to save the beautiful trees in this area we ask that you do not bring in firewood.  We do have local wood available for sale at the Camp Store.  Thank you for your understanding!
